My artistic journey: A tribute to my father

Growing up on Vancouver Island, my father, an artist himself, was a profound influence. Although we didn't always live together, the time I spent with him around age eight, learning art and music, ignited a spark within me. Throughout my life, I dabbled in sketching, drawing, and painting. However, it wasn't until his passing eight years ago that my artistic passion truly bloomed. In his memory, I immersed myself in art, discovering a natural talent for this medium. This pursuit led me to establish The Dot Girl Gallery, named after one of his famous pieces, as a tribute to his intelligent, creative, and colourful spirit. He remains my biggest inspiration.

Inspired by the raw beauty of British Columbia

At 22, I moved to Ucluelet, British Columbia, and lived by the majestic Pacific Ocean. The rugged West Coast, with its breathtaking nature, diverse wildlife, sandy beaches, and ancient trees, completely captivated me. This immersive experience, a decade ago, truly sparked my desire to paint ocean scenes and the natural world. The vibrant ecosystems of British Columbia continue to be a wellspring of inspiration, influencing the colours and themes you'll find in many of my artworks today.

Evoking emotion through every brushstroke

When you look at my acrylic and spray paint pieces, I want you to feel a surge of excitement, astonishment, and mesmerization. My hope is for each painting to captivate you, drawing you into its depths and encouraging a deeper connection with your own creative mind. By paying close attention to the intricate details and vibrant compositions, I aim to create an experience that transcends mere observation, inviting you to truly immerse yourself in the art.

"The Dot Girl Gallery pieces are not just paintings; they are gateways to another world. Each artwork is a conversation, a moment of profound beauty."
